We investigate, design, and develop microscale tools and biochemical techniques for probing and modulating complex biological environments, like the gastrointestinal tract.
Our research  focuses on uncovering novel biological principles and physical properties that emerge from the interactions between living cells, including mammalian cells and microbes, and their microenvironment. We achieve this by  developing & employing molecular biology, nano/microfabrication techniques, and enzymatic/chemical approaches.

Research focus:  Metabolic engineering, Biointerfaces, Medicinal chemistry, Oral drug delivery, Soft materials/hydrogels, Microfabrication/3D printing.
